Shoecraft / The Handmade Shoe Company was set up by Phil Wilkins in 2001 after his long-term mentor of shoemaking, Charlie, moved to Australia. Phil has now been making shoes for more than 25 years.
We currently operate from a workshop in central Bristol, as well as attending several festivals and craft fairs throughout the year.
Our aim is to produce casual and comfortable shoes and boots made from top quality full-grain leather and suede in a variety of colours and styles.
We make handmade shoes in standard sizes: ladies 4-8, gents 8-11. A bespoke service for smaller or larger sizes is available.
For problem feet we offer a full made-to-measure service. Please call the workshop on Bristol 0117 921 4247 or email us for more details.
We also produce belts, bags and other accessories.
We undertake some alterations. For example, the calves of some tall boots can be taken in to make them smaller or an elastic gusset added to make them larger. Prices start from £95 for this service: please telephone to discuss.
There is also a "high street" range of slippers, casual shoes and sandals in stock, which vary from season to season. These are not handmade and are very reasonably priced.
